The Return of No Doubt

Words could not describe my excitement when I heard that one of my all time favorite bands, No Doubt, is getting back together and releasing a new album after about a decade!!  Talk about a blast from the past!  No Doubt is set to perform on stage as their first comeback appearance at the July 22 Teen Choice Awards.

No Doubt also just released their first single of the album titled “Settle Down,” which I must say is AWESOME! Everyone get excited for their new album to come out and until then, here is the music video to their new single.

Is fun. the New Queen?

I am sure most of you have heard of the up and coming band, fun, for their single “We Are Young,” plays nonstop over and over on the radio.  Although it’s hard to create a genre for a band after only hearing one song, I could tell that their musical style was a bit more “anthem-like,” than most music playing on the radio.  However, the other day I heard one of their new songs, and at first I thought it was Freddie Mercury! (obviously that is not possible).

 

I think that fun. is becoming the new Queen of the 2010’s.  Both of the bands compose progressive rock songs mixed with an essence of musical theater and folk.  The lead singer, Nate Ruess’ voice has an extremely wide vocal range just like Freddie Mercury (maybe even a better one) and they are both super energetic and shall we say “creative” with the dance moves while performing.

All in all, I think all Queen fans will enjoy this recent band and their unique sound that has not been heard for quite some time.
